The Aim of Symposium
The
Korean Association of Art History is holding a 2013 autumn special symposium,
titled ‘Asian Art in
Global Context’. It
is in two-parts and aims to discuss and explain the multifaceted globalization
of contemporary art. The first symposium "Round Table for Globalization of Korean Art" happened in May this year. We
invited five prominent art historians, curators and professors who discussed
the issues of Korean art and its context globally. For the upcoming October
symposium, the association aims to discuss more about the status of Asian art
in the global arena with inviting academics, critics, art historians, and
curators.
